My highest reach on social media was achieved when I commented on a post admitting silly mistakes.

Just a reminder that social media doesn't have to be boring. Let's have a bit of fun. What silly mistakes have you made in your work?

Take a lunchtime walk with me and Wally.

I love to be outdoors and to exercise, so where possible, we fit in a lunchtime walk (or sometimes I get the skipping rope out in the garden). 🫣🤣

We are super lucky to live on the edge of a nature reserve and wonderful park.

What do you do to keep moving when you are desk based?

What does the proposed social media ban mean for you?

I understand for many, it has become a lifeline, a way to connect when other methods of communicating are difficult.

For our household, we haven't yet progressed to social media for our children however, I feel that the ban will benefit us in the long term.

I am interested to hear your thoughts..

A little update on what I've been doing.

Yesterday I attended a GDPR masterclass and there is sooo much information to digest.

I am going to review all policies over the coming weeks to ensure I remain compliant but some information was a real eye opener, especially relating to AI.

If you don't take anything else useful from social media today (let's face it, alot of it is junk). Please review your policies, visit ICO website for up to date information on GDPR and ensure you remain compliant. 😀

Whilst alot of my work is supporting the neurodevelopmental community, the skills I use as a Virtual Assistant can benefit any small business.

Having previously worked in sales and administration in the construction industry, I understand the pressure of being a sole trader and carrying the weight of everything yourself.

If admin, emails, invoicing and diary management are taking time away from the work you actually enjoy, an extra pair of hands could make all the difference.

What task would you happily hand over today? 👇

I'm curious...Tutors, do any of you offer English tutoring for year 8 upwards? I am wondering if you could shed some light on the need for "What, How, Why" paragraphs and whether it is really essential to only be doing this in mainstream at this stage? I welcome any thoughts.

This week has been a manic one, but it's a wonderful feeling knowing that I have completed my clients to do lists. Hopefully they can enjoy the weekend a little lighter without interruptions or tasks hanging over them. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. 😀

There's a lot of talk about AI replacing Virtual Assistants.

AI can save time, improve efficiency, and automate processes. But my clients don't just hire me to complete tasks.

They hire me for my experience, judgement, empathy, and the ability to handle sensitive conversations with genuine care.

Technology can automate processes, but it can't replace human connection.

As more personal information is processed by AI, it's worth asking: Do you know, where does that data live, and who owns it?

For now, I'm still here, utilising AI where it adds value and consent is given, while making the most of my skills and knowledge.

Here's to the human touch.

Yes, efficiency matters, but people matter more.

“ So how do I really support a Speech and Language Therapist?”

This came up during a recent call with a potential client, and honestly, it’s such an important question.

As a Virtual Assistant with Early Years SENCO experience, my support goes far beyond admin tasks. I understand the realities of supporting children with communication and language needs because I’ve worked directly within the process.

I’ve previously:

• Coordinated referrals for Speech and Language Therapy services
• Delivered targeted early interventions
• Supported screening and observations
• Liaised with parents, settings, and professionals
• Managed paperwork, timelines, and follow-ups
• Helped ensure strategies were implemented consistently within the setting

What SLTs often need is not just “help”, they need someone who understands the flow of SEND support and can reduce pressure without compromising quality.

That might look like:

✔️ Organising caseload admin
✔️ Tracking referrals and reports
✔️ Following up with parents or settings
✔️ Coordinating appointments and communication
✔️ Supporting intervention delivery and record keeping

When you already understand Early Years SEND processes, safeguarding, professional communication, and the importance of timely intervention, you can become a genuine extension of the therapist’s work, not just an extra pair of hands.

The right support creates more time for therapists to focus on what matters most: the children and families they support.

As we head into holiday season, one question I get asked a lot is:

“How does email cover actually work when I’m away?”

The truth is, many businesses don’t realise how much planning is needed until the out-of-office goes on and urgent emails start piling up.

With security systems like 2FA, login approvals and mailbox permissions, setting things up properly beforehand makes all the difference.

I’ve put together this quick guide explaining:

✔️ The different email access options available
✔️ How delegated/shared access works
✔️ What to consider with 2FA
✔️ The safest ways to provide cover while you’re on leave
✔️ A simple checklist before you go away

Whether you’re taking annual leave, travelling, or simply want peace of mind while offline, having the right systems in place helps your business continue running smoothly.

If you’ve ever wondered how virtual email cover works, or you want to get organised before your next break, feel free to message me.
