New tech. Very exciting... if you are prepared!

My trusty old macbook pro (circa 2011) recently became very slow and started to crash. I ran the usual troubleshooting but in the end it was a combination of age and heavy use that had taken its toll and it was time for an upgrade.

This moment could have been very different though, it could have been stressful or not possible at all had I not had a robust Disaster Recovery Plan in place for Virtual Assistant ETC .

Are you prepared? What happens if:

your laptop breaks unexpectedly?
you lose your phone?
you aren't well (especially important to plan for if you are self-employed)?

There are so many different scenarios that you can and should be preparing for. You can't plan for every eventuality life throws your way but you can mitigate the risks of most.

How to streamline your to-do list!

1. Categorise - there is nothing worse than jumping in & out of systems or across different areas of the business, group tasks together for a more efficient way of working.

2. Schedule - if you are constantly doing the same little tasks, look at what you can schedule ahead of time and in bulk. Think social media, invoicing, newsletter updates.

3. Time is valuable - A work-life balance is hard to achieve, set your work hours and stick to them. Always start your day with time sensitive tasks, if you haven't finished your list by the end of your workday, that's ok move them on to tomorrow.

4. Or just get me to do it! Assign me the tasks that are keeping you from the work you love to do or keeping you working late too often.
