We’re appealing for witnesses after a couple approached a child in Rosebury Park in Epsom yesterday morning (13 April).
At around 11am a man and a woman walked into the playground and approached a young child who was playing on the trampoline. The mother of the child quickly intervened, and the couple left.
Detective Inspector Kate Williamson said: “We would like to speak with the couple to understand what they were doing in the park and why they approached the child. We would like to reassure the local community that we are doing all we can to establish the circumstances of this incident and our officers are currently conducting patrols in the area in the hope of identifying the couple. If you are part of this couple, if you were in the park at the time or recognise the description of the couple, please get in touch.”
The couple are described as Southeast Asian and in their late 20s.
The woman was described as wearing a pink head scarf and beige trench coat.
The man was described as wearing blue jeans and a navy jacket. He was carrying a large green rucksack which had lots of keys attached.
