Our October Grief Retreat is getting closer, and we’re now sold out of single rooms.

We do still have a limited number of shared rooms available for those who feel able to join us.

If you’ve been considering the retreat but aren’t quite sure what to expect, today’s post shares some reflections from people who joined us at our April retreat.

For many, being surrounded by people who understand su***de loss, without having to explain every feeling or experience, was an important part of the retreat.

October will bring together therapeutic support, connection, time in nature, reflection and space to simply be; alongside others who understand.

All proceeds go back into helping people - If you’d like to find out more, you can find all the details via the link in our bio. Or DM us ‘LINK’ and we will send it direct to your inbox ❤️

Less than 2 weeks to go!

Gitananda Yoga The Fold, Bransford
Tuesdays, 7pm
Starting 1st September
Suitable for all abilities, no previous experience needed

As we get closer to the start of our new Gitananda Yoga class at The Fold, I thought I'd check in and see if anyone has any questions.

One of the things people often wonder is what to expect from class. The short answer is: there's no need to worry about "getting it right."

Wear whatever you feel comfortable moving around in. Mats are provided, but please bring water to drink and a blanket for relaxation.

We begin with a short, quiet pause to focus on the breath, followed by a simple chant and some gentle loosening practices. From there, we'll explore a few standing postures (some may be familiar, some may be completely new, and that's absolutely fine 😊). We then return to the floor and always finish with a lovely relaxation.

This isn't a silent yoga class. There is often laughter, conversation and the occasional story shared. But there's never any pressure to join in, and equally no pressure to do any posture that doesn't feel right for you.

It's your practice.

If you've come to lie down quietly for an hour because that's what you need that day, then please do.

Pausing, resting, adapting, adjusting... it's all part of yoga.

A few things to keep in mind:

* Don't try too hard (my motto for life!)

* Never do anything that hurts

* There's no such thing as perfect. Practice makes progress.

* Progress isn't always linear. Quite often it feels like going around in circles, and that's okay too.

Most importantly, I want this to be a welcoming, supportive space where you can breathe, move, relax and reconnect with yourself.

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. If you have any questions before we begin, please feel free to ask anytime.

Why is fixing burnout so exhausting?

Well…..burnout is the result of forcing yourself to operate against your natural limits for far too long.

Sustainable change doesn't come from pushing harder. It comes from learning to slow down.

In my latest blog post, The Art of Unforced Discipline, I consider how four powerful concepts from Japanese philosophy can act as a gentle roadmap back to yourself:

Kaizen: Bypassing overwhelm with tiny, 0.1% daily gains.

Ikigai: Finding safety and purpose in small, everyday moments.

Wabi-Sabi: Embracing imperfection and letting practice make progress.

Kintsugi: Honouring your struggles and your story with deep compassion.

If you are ready to stop fighting your nervous system and start working with it, click on the 🔗 for the full article and discover how to navigate your way out of burnout:

Feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected from yourself? Discover how the Japanese philosophies of Kaizen, Ikigai, Wabi-Sabi, and Kintsugi can help you reduce stress, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with what truly matters.
