✨Introducing NeuroCompass Circle ✨

A supportive, neuroaffirming space to connect with others, be your authentic self, and feel understood without pressure or expectations.

NeuroCompass Circle is a relaxed support group for neurodivergent adults focused on connection, community, and wider understanding. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, exploring your identity, or simply looking for a space where you can unmask and just be, you are welcome here.

Together, we can explore (if wanted) things like:
💬 Unmasking and self-understanding
🌿 Sensory needs and regulation
🧠 Organisation and executive function strategies
⚡ Managing overwhelm and burnout
🤝 Building confidence and connection
✨ Sharing experiences in a supportive environment

There is absolutely no pressure to talk, engage in supportive conversation, or share personal experiences, listening is participation too. Supportive discussions and strategy-based conversations will be available during the session for anyone who would find them helpful, engaging in these is always completely optional.

The group is designed to feel calm, welcoming and easy-going. You’re welcome to bring along anything that helps you feel comfortable, for example:
🎧 Headphones
🖍 A colouring book or sketchpad
🌀 Fidgets or sensory tools
☕ Your favourite drink cup to fill up with a lovely drink

The venue doesn’t have a car park but there is on street parking available locally, and we kindly ask attendees to purchase a drink/snack from the venue where possible to support the space hosting us.

📍 Date: Wednesday 24th June
⏰ Time: 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm
📍 Place: The Lemon Tart Café, 71 Barbourne Road, Worcester, WR1 1SB
💷 Price: £8

Some days our brains are full of ideas, jobs, reminders and “I should really do that…” thoughts before we’ve even had breakfast – I know mine is!

I know that trying to do everything often leads to overwhelm, shutdown, or feeling like we’ve failed before the day has even started.

I’m actually using this approach myself today and thought I would share it because sometimes we all need a reminder that realistic planning is enough. 💙

This simple planning idea can help:
🧠 Start with a brain dump
⭐ Pick your realistic “Today’s Wants”
✨ Add a few “Today’s Mights” if energy allows
📝 Move everything else onto a “Wish List for Another Day”

Using post-it notes can also make tasks feel more manageable. Breaking things down into smaller steps helps move away from the overwhelming “big picture” and allows you to focus on completing one small task at a time. There is also something really satisfying about moving, removing, or reordering tasks as the day changes.

Not every task needs to happen today — and that’s okay.

A realistic plan is often far more supportive than an ambitious one. Small, achievable steps can build momentum, reduce pressure, and help protect energy levels throughout the day.

What’s one small thing you could focus on today?

Ever wondered how a screen reader works?

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day which is all about raising awareness of digital access and inclusion for people living with disabilities or impairments.

Many people use screen readers or text to speech tools to access online information. This includes people who are blind, people with low vision, those with learning or cognitive disabilities, and people learning a new language. We have staff and residents who rely on this technology every day, which is why creating accessible content is so important.

Our Digital Accessibility Lead Helen Wilson has been working in partnership with Voices United youth forum volunteer Lydia Beech to bring this to life. Together, they have developed and delivered practical training that shows how people who use a screen reader experience online information.

Lydia is blind, and her lived experience gives colleagues a real understanding of how content is accessed, while Helen provides clear, practical guidance on how to make it accessible in tools like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Thank you to Helen and Lydia for your work to help colleagues across the council, NHS and education sector to better understand why accessibility matters, and how small changes can make a big difference for everyone.

Feeling proud to have my first article in ND360Hub it was great to be able to showcase the benefits of Neurodiversity in Business Co-working days!! 😀

Well ! Have you seen the post to day about the GC, The Dept of Education and SEND? Just a little insensitive...I think we can all agree! How can they get it soooo wrong??

I'm happy to report that the ND360 Hub magazine is reporting on SEND and the White Paper and hopefully this month's issue will truly represent the voice of SEND parents. Thanks to Jo Roberts for writing an article which represents the mood of SEND parents.

✨ Introducing the NeuroCompass Circle ✨

I’m really pleased to share that NeuroCompass will be launching the NeuroCompass Circle this June 💜

This is a gentle, welcoming space for neurodivergent adults to connect, reflect, and feel understood — without pressure or expectation.

The NeuroCompass Circle has been created with intention:
🧭 a space where you can simply be yourself,
🧠 where your experiences are understood,
🤝 and where connection can happen at your own pace.

What to expect:
✔ No pressure to talk
✔ Come as you are
✔ Listening is always okay
✔ Support and strategies available if helpful

This space will be open to neurodivergent adults — whether formally diagnosed, self-identified, or currently exploring their understanding.

👋 I’ll be there to welcome you and gently hold the space, creating a calm, inclusive environment for everyone attending.

More details, including dates, location, and how to book, will be coming soon.

If this sounds like something that could support you, feel free to drop me a message or comment below — I’d love to hear your thoughts.

This is something I’ve been wanting to bring to life for a while — and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it grows 🌱
