NeuroCompass Circle – Exploring Energy

It was lovely to spend time with the group yesterday exploring energy and what it means for us as neurodivergent people.

There were some really honest and interesting conversations around masking, the things that drain our energy, and the things that help us recharge.

We also had a lovely conversation about the comfort and enjoyment that can come from playing a favourite song on repeat — something that really resonated with the group.

It was wonderful to see people connecting, sharing experiences and having some great conversations together.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the evening such a welcoming space.

NeuroCompass Circle: Exploring Energy

How does your energy actually work?

At our next NeuroCompass Circle, we’ll be exploring energy — not just how much energy we have, but where it goes, what drains it, what restores it, and how we can protect it. 💜

We’ll explore ideas such as:
🔋 Energy accounting — what are you spending your energy on?
⚡ Energy drains — what takes more from you than you realise?
🌱 Recharging — what genuinely helps you recover?
🌈 Energy landscapes — a creative way to map your own energy
🧰 Practical strategies — small ways to work with your energy rather than constantly pushing against it

There will be a creative activity and an opportunity to make your own energy landscape.

And as always:
💜 No pressure to talk
💜 No pressure to participate in every activity
💜 Listening is always okay
💜 Come as you are

📅 Wednesday 26th August
🕡 6.30–8.00pm
📍 St John’s Library, Worcester
💷 £11 per session

The group is open to neurodivergent adults — no formal diagnosis is needed. Self-identified or currently seeking understanding is absolutely welcome.

Booking is required. Book through Eventbrite:

🧠 Executive functioning isn’t just about getting things done. It’s about making things easier to get done.

I’ve been experimenting with some simple planning tools, including this magnetic weekly planner and mini whiteboard.

It might look like a simple organisation system — but there’s actually a lot of executive functioning support built into something like this.

✨ Externalising information – getting tasks, appointments and ideas out of your head and somewhere visible.

✨ Planning and sequencing – seeing the week as a whole can make it easier to work out what needs to happen when.

✨ Working memory support – instead of relying on your brain to remember everything, the information is there in front of you.

✨ Prioritising – visualising everything can help you decide what actually needs your attention.

✨ Reducing cognitive load – having an external system means your brain doesn’t have to hold quite so much information at once.

✨ Flexibility – a magnetic or whiteboard system can be changed when plans change, without having to start again.

And perhaps most importantly, there isn’t one “right” way to organise yourself.

For some people, a digital calendar works brilliantly. For others, a paper planner, whiteboard, sticky notes, visual prompts or a combination of systems works much better.

The aim isn’t to become more organised for the sake of being organised.

It’s about finding ways to work with your brain rather than constantly expecting your brain to work harder.

This is exactly the kind of practical strategy we explore through 1:1 sessions and the NeuroCompass Circle support group — finding tools and approaches that make everyday life, work and planning more manageable.

What’s your favourite tool for keeping your brain organised? 🧠✨

NeuroCompass Circle — August & September Sessions

Looking for a welcoming space to connect with other neurodivergent adults, share experiences and explore practical strategies?

NeuroCompass Circle is a calm, inclusive support group for neurodivergent adults — whether you have a formal diagnosis, self-identify, or are currently seeking understanding.

There’s no pressure to talk or participate. You can simply listen, have a cuppa, connect with others, or explore the session activities at your own pace. 💜

✨ Our next two sessions:

⚡ Wednesday 26th August — ENERGY
We’ll explore energy, what can drain or restore it, and how we can work with our energy rather than constantly pushing through.

🧠 Wednesday 9th September — EXECUTIVE FUNCTION
We’ll explore executive functioning and some of the everyday challenges that can come with planning, organising, starting tasks, remembering things and managing demands.

Both sessions offer opportunities to share, reflect and explore practical strategies and tools.

📍 St John’s Library, Worcester
🕡 6.30–8.00pm
💷 £11 per session
🎟️ Booking required

No formal diagnosis is needed — self-identified or currently seeking understanding is absolutely welcome.
