Before we start our own harvest, we had the pleasure to visit Vila Shehi W**ery near Tiranë in Albania 🇦🇱. They have 1 ha of own vineyards and buy additional grapes from nearby vinegrowers to produce white, orange, rosé and red w**es as well as sparkling w**e and Raki, the Albanian brandy.

All the w**es are made in stainless steel barrels, and some of the red ones are aged in oak barrels.

Feeling very positive as we've installed the traps against Lobesia botrana. This insect affected our harvest several times. With these pheronom traps, we should be able to reduce the damages significantly.

Ein paar Worte zu den Weinen...

🌿 Naturwein: Unsere Weine sind natürlich, weil der Rebberg 100 % biologisch bewirtschaftet wird, weil wir auf Spontanvergärung durch natürlich vorkommende Hefekulturen setzen und weil wir den Weinen im Keller keinerlei Zusätze beimischen.

🟠 Orange-Wein: Was in Westeuropa ziemlich neu ist, produziert man in Georgien seit tausenden von Jahren: Wir nutzen für die Weissweinherstellung nicht nur den Saft, sondern vergären ihn zusammen mit der Maische, also mit Schalen, Kernen und teilweise sogar Stielen. Dies verleiht dem Wein seine orange Farbe und ein Feuerwerk an Geschmacksnoten.

🧉 Amphorenwein: Unsere Weine werden unterirdisch produziert – in Tonamphoren, die in den Boden eingegraben sind. Dies macht man auf dem Gebiet von Georgien seit 8'000 Jahren so, und diese Methode ist Teil des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes.

Can you imagine that this w**e is made from white w**e grapes? Yes, that's our Kisi from 2022, harvested at a high sugar level and with skin contact for several months. Amazing for aging 😍 This year, we'll try to produce something similar.
