The School of Nursing and Midwifery, UG has launched its 60th anniversary on the theme, "Resilience in Developing Nursing and Midwifery Workforce; Embracing Technology and Excellence."

The Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Prof. Florence Naab, stated that the School which is the cornerstone for Nursing and Midwifery education in Ghana, is poised to explore possibilities and innovations that lie outside the traditional scope of operations. This, she noted, will help establish structures that will stand the test of time and deliver the best of services to the current population.

Prof. Julius Fobil, Chairperson for the Launch and Provost for the College of Health Sciences, expressed his joy at the School's incredible achievement and pledged his unwavering support as it strives to reach even greater heights in the future.

During the colorful ceremony, an Anniversary cloth and logo were unveiled.

The 60th-anniversary commemoration festivities will continue with an exciting line-up of events, culminating in a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the Legon Interdenominational Church.

The launch was attended by UG Senior Management, prominent individuals from the Nursing and Midwifery fraternity, and other dignitaries from the health sector.

Sheffield Hallam University has expanded its healthcare training facilities with a new state-of-the-art simulated hospital ward to help prepare nursing and allied health profession (AHP) students for practice.

The Collegiate Wing, a 12-bed ward based at Sheffield Hallam’s Collegiate Campus, replicates a clinical setting and provides a safe environment for students to better develop their expertise, critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.

The facility bridges the gap between on-campus and in-practice learning, and will help students build confidence and skills in dealing with situations they may not come across often in practice. Using simulated clinical settings also relieves some of the strain on healthcare settings providing the placements.
