There is a question more businesses should be asking right now:

Are we already in a better environment… or are we waiting too long to recognize it?

Across the economy, key signals are shifting, inflation has dropped significantly from peak levels, and overall stability is gradually returning.

Historically, periods like this have always marked the early stages of repositioning. Not because conditions are perfect but because they are becoming predictable.

And predictability changes everything.
It allows businesses to:

• Plan with greater confidence
• Reassess the cost and structure of funding
• Move from survival thinking to selective expansion
• Engage more strategically with long-term growth partners

Yet, in many cases, behaviour still reflects the past cycle, cautious, delayed, and reactive.

That is the real risk. Because by the time conditions feel “comfortable,” the advantage of early positioning is already gone.

The real shift is not when conditions become easy, it is when they become clear enough to act.

The question is: Are we reading the signals early or waiting for confirmation?

There is something powerful about simple truths, Like laws, success principles do not change to suit particular nations or skin colours.

We live in a world that often looks for shortcuts, exceptions, or special conditions.

We tell ourselves stories…

1. That success works differently here.
2. That the system is against us.
3. That others have an advantage we don’t.

But the truth is this:

Principles don’t bend. People must align.
Discipline works everywhere.
Consistency delivers everywhere.
Value creation is rewarded everywhere.
Ex*****on separates people everywhere.

In my journey across industries and markets, I have seen one thing clearly. The people who win are not the ones with the best excuses. They are the ones who respect the fundamentals and commit to them relentlessly.

Success is not a location advantage. It is a principle advantage.
So the real question is not where you are. it is how aligned you are with what works.

Because in the end, the marketplace does not respond to intention. It responds to ex*****on.

And ex*****on is built on timeless principles. Let’s get back to them.

Hidden struggles

Every success you admire today was once invisible. It started as a quiet thought, an idea no one understood, a vision that even the owner sometimes doubted.

Before results come, there is pressure.
Before applause, there is stretching.
Before the breakthrough, there is internal change.

Growth is not comfortable it transforms you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually

So if you feel stretched right now, don’t panic.
You are not breaking.

You are becoming the person you admire to be.
You are on a journey to the destination.

Keep the faith.

Everything tells a story. Guess my picture tells a story

Over the weekend, I sat at the other side of the table, this time not teaching, not presenting, but learning.

I sat in a leadership session where we explored storytelling as a leadership tool.

Not storytelling for entertainment but storytelling for influence, culture, and direction.

It struck me that leadership is not only about strategy, targets, dashboards, or performance reviews.

People rarely remember our slides, but they almost always remember our stories behind the numbers

A story carries what instruction alone cannot:

• It transfers experience without people suffering the same mistakes
• It humanizes authority
• It gives meaning to vision
• And it builds trust faster than titles ever will

I realised something very personal in that session: many leaders have experiences, but not every leader interprets and articulates their experiences

And if you don’t interpret your journey, your team will never understand your decisions.

Our successes are lessons.
Our failures are manuals.
Our scars are leadership materials.

Great leaders don’t just give direction, they give narratives people can walk inside.

I left the class reflecting deeper, because leadership is not only about where you are taking people, but also about allowing them to see how you became who you are.

Thank you, Professor Noel Tagoe, for such an insightful session. I am carrying one major lesson with me:

People follow plans, but they commit to stories.

Different campuses. Two orientations. Two powerful lessons.

2 weeks ago, I stood before over 6000 students and addressed them during an orientation session for one of the public universities in Ghana, sharing perspective, guidance, and leadership insights with the students

Over the weekend, I found myself sitting in another orientation, this time listening, learning, and being guided as a student.

That contrast echoed to me that leadership is not a permanent microphone.

Growth requires knowing when to speak and when to sit, listen, and learn.

No matter how far we go, the classroom never disappears. Titles may change, roles may shift, but humility and curiosity must remain constant.

The moment we stop learning, we stop growing. The simple truth is that leaders must be lifelong learners, and the wisest learners are never afraid to unlearn and relearn.

Last Saturday marked exactly fifteen years I walked through the doors of one of Ghana's telecom businesses. I still remember the mix of excitement and uncertainty as I stepped into something new (a new unit), not fully knowing where it would lead.

Before that, I had worked in another telecom company whose slogan was “A Wonderful World.” It was there I learned to BE BOLD, BE DARING , and BE FIRST (the core values of the company), to take initiative, to embrace pressure, and to face challenges head-on. Those values built my confidence and sharpened my edge.

Then came the company I was walking into, with the mantra “POWER TO YOU.” Its values, SPEED, SIMPLICITY, and TRUST, also redefined my leadership philosophy. I learned that real power is not in doing everything yourself but in empowering others to succeed.

Transitioning from one world to the other was more than a career move; it was a personal transformation. One taught me courage. The other taught me clarity. Together, they shaped the leader I continue to become.

Through this transition, I’ve learned that growth is not a straight line. It’s a series of moments that test your faith, stretch your capacity, and reveal your purpose.

Looking back, I’m grateful for the people, the lessons, and the grace that kept me growing. Because in the end, the real power to you begins when you dare to make your world truly wonderful.

To these colleagues, I salute you all. You were part of the transformational story.

I have worked in two different organisations where Fridays meant completely different things.

In one organization, I worked as a Trade Marketing Executive, and I hated Fridays. That was the day we held our weekly Sales Meetings with the Regional Sales Managers — fondly called RESIMO.

Those mornings were tough, heated, and draining. The kind that made you wish the earth would open and swallow everyone, especially your RESIMO leading the discussions.

In another organization, Fridays were the opposite. We had “No Meeting Fridays.” Policy, That was the day we focused on our individual administrative work and strategy., it was calm

To many, that Fridays felt like an escape. The mood would shift by mid-afternoon, reports rushed in, conversations shortened, and everyone seemed eager to sign off.

One Friday, the COO walked in quietly and overheard a group discussing football and movie plans. He smiled and said, “I love Fridays too. But remember, how you close the week determines how the next one begins.”

This triggered me to understand that. .

Fridays are not just endings; they are reflections.
They give us a chance to pause, review, and reset.

Leading is not only about the goals we chase, but the discipline we show in how we finish.

A strong finish builds a stronger start.

As we end the week and the month, take a moment to review your actions, your words, and your impact.

What did you build this week ot this full month. that’s worth continuing?

Real progress is not measured by how fast you move, but by how intentionally you close each chapter.

Happy new month.

Let me read a letter I wrote for you.

Dear friend,

It’s the first Monday of August, if that doesn’t scream fresh start, I don’t know what does.

Just a quick reminder: your next breakthrough is probably closer than you think. Every challenge is a hidden lesson. Every setback? Just a dramatic pause before your comeback scene.

Success isn’t about getting it perfect but it’s about showing up, learning, and refusing to quit. So keep going. Something great is cooking.

What’s one bold move you’re making this week? Let’s share and inspire each other in the comments.
