We call him Amansanboafo, for obvious reasons. If politics is about grooming, support, and helping people to make a meaningful life, then Henry Nana Boakye is truly the ideal man. I will offer my unwavering support in every contest he participates in.
I joined the NPP on my own, after many years of sympathy for the NDC. The likes of Bro Ahmed Musah, whom I later became his campaign manager for TEIN President at Kumasi Technical University, will attest to my strong sympathy for the NDC then.
I left the NDC, even though I never held a membership card, on my own after being exposed to books relating to the history of Ghana. The Nkrumah that was packaged to us like a saint became a different person to me. I felt more belonging to the NPP based on my understanding of the party’s ideology.
Joining a political party without a godfather is like building a house with weak pillars; the party will come into power and you’ll still be in opposition.
After a fierce campaign against Nii Lantey Vandepuye, who was then the Director of Operations under late President Mills, to forming one of the strong cells in Zongo Lane, at a time when no one could conveniently wear an NPP T-shirt and walk freely.
President Nana Addo, then a presidential candidate, visited my cell meeting. I still remember what he whispered in my ears after Dr. Loud Commey introduced me to him.
Candidate Nana Addo shook my hands three times and whispered in my ears, “Young man, you’ll hear from me.” Anyway, I’m still waiting to hear from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo 😂.
There were few friends who thought some of us were enjoying, especially after being elected as constituency executive on two occasions. But the truth is, I never had a permanent job until I met Amansanboafo Nana B. He gave me a job, showed me love, care, and support.
He’s the type who will call you, text you, and find out how you’re faring. When opportunities come, he’ll call and ask if you want.
He’s human, not free from mistakes, but his human relation and support for his people is something you can’t take away from him as a politician and the National Organizer of NPP. I’m an ardent loyalist of him. If you touch him, you touch us all, Happy Birthday 🎂🎉 again Amansanboafo ….
