IS THIS THE GHANA YOU WANT?
I'm certain we all mean well for this country, but are we truly willing?
Read on, as we reflect together!
Providing QUALITY EDUCATION and ACCESS, and serving God in Truth and in Spirit are the solutions to Ghana's challenges and that of Africa.
The foundation that propels a nation and an individual’s development and growth is premised on the above two fundamental factors.
When education promotes critical thinking and skills-based instructions; not rote learning and assessment, citizens are empowered for life to be solution-oriented and productivity-driven.
When religion is practiced in truth and in spirit; not self gain and abuse, citizens are imbibed with the appropriate values for daily living. This reflects how they live and conduct themselves ethnically at the workplace, home, school, place of worship, and on the streets, etc.
The main agents to advance these courses are political leadership, parenting, religious leadership, and school owners/leadership.
The media only reflects what the political leadership and
citizens are doing and want to hear/watch.
When these 4 agents decide to change the trajectory, the media will change its narratives.
I watch with dismay, how we spend productive hours in this country talking and arguing everyday without commensurate actions to solving our challenges.
I sometimes wonder who bewitched us?
How come we seem to know a lot, yet do little?
How come we love majoring on minor issues and less on the main issues?
How come we are very religious, and yet very unproductive?
How come we desire change and yet fight and scon productive ideas that will bring about those changes?
How come everyone seems to be an expert in all fields; despising the knowledge, expertise, experiences, and the wisdom of the experts?
Who bewitched us?
When it's easier to blame another person for your problems; not yourself, it's an indication of an unwillingness to solve your problems. Unfortunately, this is who we have become!
But, is that who we are?
Certainly not! As long as we become uncomfortable in the midst of trouble, it's proof that that is not who we are?
Our real humanity is calling for realignment. Our brain (mind) and soul is searching for an alignment to grant peace to the body and the physical environment.
As it stands now, there is a disconnect! YES, there is!
The time has come to change our trajectory as a country and enhance our narratives.
No country on this earth has transitioned from a developing state to a developed country or economy beyond these two factors: Quality education and Value/virtue-based religious assimilation into national policy and development.
Talk about America, China, Singapore, UAE, Malaysia, Finland, etc. this was their secret.
We need to rethink as a people, as to whether our current attitudes, beliefs, worldviews, and manners will aid our transition into a developed economy?
If not, we must at a point in our journey pause, turn away, reorient, and re-engineer the values and systems that must drive what we want.
If we are truly serious and sincere about what we want, it must start from our educational system and religious institutions.
Change is painful, that's why most people fight it. But, when we embrace it, we will realise it's not as painful as we had imagined it!
Ghana deserves better, so do you!
Shalom!
