On May 21, 2025, we had the opportunity to meet with a group of dedicated teachers to discuss effective strategies for building strong relationships with their learners.

Our initial plan was to share a prepared presentation. However, when our trainer, Prince Kweku, encouraged us to begin by asking the teachers a few questions, the responses we received shifted everything. The teachers openly shared the real challenges their students faceโ€”challenges that often push them to react without considering long-term impact.

In response, we adapted our session to focus on what we call emotional capacityโ€”the ability to stay grounded, aware, and intentional even in difficult situations.

While many refer to this as emotional resilience, we prefer emotional capacity, because it emphasizes the space we create within ourselves to handle pressure wisely.

By the end of the training, many teachers expressed a renewed sense of confidence and calm. They left feeling emotionally equipped to support their students with greater compassion and clarity.

It was a powerful experienceโ€”and a reminder of the importance of meeting people where they are.

Changing how teachers teach

From April 29โ€“30 and May 2, 2025, we have the privilege of engaging with over 100+ different teachers from the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Tema District of Accra, Ghana, for a multi-day training and speaking series.

Led by our founderโ€”an accomplished speaker and trainerโ€”the sessions focused on equipping educators with actionable tools to enhance their impact in the classroom.

Core topics included positive discipline strategies, the power of role-playing, simplified learning frameworks, and the importance of consistent follow-up with students.

What made the experience truly powerful was the personal connection many teachers felt.

They expressed how the training not only shifted their mindset but also reignited their passion for teaching.
