Five Most Relevant UK Immigration Changes for Ghanaian Students
The UK’s 2025 Immigration White Paper (May 12) and related policies introduce these five changes most relevant to international students:

1. Graduate Route visa shortened from 2 years to 18 months, limiting post-study work opportunities.
2. Most international students (except postgraduate research or government-funded scholars) cannot bring dependants, effective January 2024.
3. Proposed levy on international student tuition fee income, potentially increasing costs for students.
4. Increased English language proficiency requirements for student visas, affecting eligibility.
5. Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) or eVisa required for all travelers (except British/Irish citizens) from April 2025, adding entry steps.
