A Message of Solidarity and Strength
To my fellow Queen, Chiaky Otuteye and to the organizers of Intercontinental Ghana:
There is a specific kind of heartbreak that comes when the world hands you a dream, only to try and sn**ch it back by attacking your essence. My heart was heavy watching the video circulating of Chiaky—a woman who is not just eloquent and humble, but undeniably unique.
To the organizers:
Who defines 'beauty standards'?
Dr. Chiaky didn't just appear on that stage; she navigated the auditions, the grueling rehearsals, and the pressure of the grand finale. You watched her, you judged her, and you crowned her. To turn your back now under the guise of 'beauty standards' feels less like a professional pivot and more like a betrayal of the very empowerment pageantry claims to represent. Was she a winner when there were funds to be raised, but 'not enough' when it came time to represent us?
The math simply doesn’t add up, and the cruelty is loud.
From my years in this industry, I see in Chiaky everything a true Queen should be: poise, fierce intelligence, and a soul that shines through her eyes. There is no 'quality' she lacks; there is only a lack of vision in those who cannot see her worth.
To Chiaky Otuteye:
The world will always try to tell you who you are, especially when you are standing in your power. Do not give them the pen to write your story. I want you to sit in a quiet space and ask yourself one thing: 'Who do I see when I look in the mirror?' When you find that answer—the one that exists without titles, sashes, or social media comments—let it be your North Star. This world can be cold💧, but you are the fire🔥. I am sending you so much love🥰 and a sisterly embrace🫂 during this season. You are not defined by a revoked title; you are defined by your resilience.
Remember this: You are exactly who you say you are. No one else gets a vote. 👑❤️
