Dear Prof. Jasper Julius,

I was excited when I came across your research interests on the faculty page of the Chemical Biology department. My excitement stems from the fact that my research and publication experiences both align perfectly with your interests and I knew without a doubt, that joining your lab will be the best thing to ever happen to me, academically and research-wise. My research interest is in developing
bioanalytical techniques and chromatographic methods for elucidating biologically important natural products and compounds.

My name is Ada Anayo, a Biochemistry graduate with lots of hands-on post graduate experience in Analytical Methods especially chromatographic separations and analysis. One of my research experience was on "GC/MS Characterization and Antimicrobial Analysis of the Methanol Extracts of the Seed and Stem of Annona muricata" where I utilized various chromatographic techniques to separate and characterize the bioactive components of the plant stem and seed extracts. Furthermore, this research resulted in the publication of two papers in a scientific journal of high repute.

Also, I had the privilege of interning at both the Pesticide Residue and Mycotoxin/Microbiology Laboratories of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Nigeria. While there, I worked closely with researchers on different foods and other consumables, to ascertain the level of contaminants and their suitability for human consumption. Some of the equipments and techniques that I worked with include LC/MS, GC/MS, GPC, and ELISA.

I am wondering if you are accepting graduate students for the Fall 2024academic session and to indicate my interest in joining your team as I prepare to apply to the graduate program in Chemical Biology.I have attached a copy of my CV and academic transcript for your perusal and I'm always available for a virtual chat if you wish to have one scheduled so we can further discuss your current research interests and my suitability for your team.

Dear Students and travellers from Ghana, kindly take note when purchasing a Travel ticket:

1. When flying to the UK, kindly avoid KLM, AIRFRANCE and other flights that will transit you through Europe. None of the flights will board you without a schegen visa.

2. When flying to USA, you can use KLM or any of the flights transiting via Europe but make sure it's just one transit country and not two or they won't board you.

3. When traveling to Canada, make sure your flights doesn't have any connection through the USA or they won't board you without an American visa. You can also use KLM or AIRFRANCE or any of the flights transiting through Europe.

4. Emirates, Qatar, Ethiopian etc they'll take you anywhere. No transit visa issues.

8: Publications: This is very very important especially those with low GPA. If you can't publish one yourself, if you cannot write an article, FIND SOMEONE THAT CAN WRITE AND CO-AUTHOR WITH THEM . yes you can do it like that. You can be involved in Searching for literatures/ You can be involved in writing the analysis or data collection. At the end of the day, your name will go down as a co-author. This gives you opportunity to learn and also opportunity to get closer to your dream..
How to increase your chances of getting a scholarship by 2024, Please please look into these.

1: For USA universities, Apply Early, if position 1st week of admission application, that means you already done your research and decided on the universities.

2: For Masters and PHD(USA):Get a Professor/Supervisor. Go to your course page look for the lecturers in charge of your department. you will always see their specialization written under their name, check for the one that fits your research plan , reach out to them via cold email. Make sure you do a proper research on the supervisor. When sending the mail, please attach your well written Motivation Letter, CV, if possible Research Proposal. IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE AS MANY SCHOOL AS POSSIBLE AND SEND TO AS MANY SUPERVISORS IN DIFF SCHOOLS, because only one might risky. and you need to start sending the cold email from now because FUNDING PRIORITY ADMISSION IS SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER . so you don't want to miss the first deadline.

3: If you have low GPA or even if you don't: Please do online courses that relates with your future course. Learn software tools that you are supposed to learn in your future course. it will give you an edge.

4: Please please join a voluntary organization. esp one that relates to your future course/ if none, then join anyone with Online presence and one that works towards any SDG goals.

5: Get Necessary tests like: SAT for undergraduate, GMAT/GRE, IELTS. even though it might not be required, but these tests might give you a huge edge.
