President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana has expressed that he remains unconcerned regarding Russian security assistance in the Sahel, noting that any partner dedicated to combating terrorism is welcomed in West Africa.

While speaking at the Financial Times Africa Summit in London on Wednesday, President Mahama was questioned about Moscow’s increasing involvement in regional security efforts. He responded by stating that, in his view, anyone committed to the fight against terrorism is welcome.

🔴 BREAKING NEWS

Burkina Faso 38yr old president Captain Ibrahim Traore has completely rejected the idea of elections in Burkina Faso till 2030 and decided to focus more on BUILDING his nation 🇧🇫

Instead of spending billions on politics, he has decided to channel the money into constructions of roads, hospitals and schools and today many of those projects are already standing strong...

Hospitals now have equipment the country never had before, bad roads are being transformed and new school buildings are rising across different areas within the country...

Traore said a nation can not develop when leaders care more about themselves than the suffering of the people...

This is why many Africans admire him today he talks, plans and actually DOES the work

A true leader is not known by promises but by results and that is exactly what Traore has been showing us since he took power in 2022...

🔥 THEY CALLED HIM A YOUNG CAPTAIN… BUT HE BECAME THE FACE OF A NATION’S DEFIANCE. WHO IS IBRAHIM TRAORÉ? 🇧🇫

Imagine being in your thirties and taking leadership of a country struggling with insecurity, poverty, and frustration over its political future. That is the story of Ibrahim Traoré, the military officer who became one of Africa’s most discussed leaders.

Born on March 14, 1988, in Burkina Faso, Traoré joined the military and rose through the ranks before taking power in a military coup in September 2022, becoming the country’s transitional leader.

Since then, his government has taken several major steps: it has pushed for greater national control over security operations, reduced military cooperation with France, strengthened ties with countries such as Mali, Niger, and Russia, recruited and equipped more local defense volunteers, and promoted policies aimed at increasing state control over natural resources. His government has also dissolved political parties and extended the transition period—decisions that have drawn criticism from opponents and democracy advocates.

But why has his name captured the attention of millions across Africa and beyond?

🇧🇫 He speaks the language of sovereignty. Traoré has called for greater African independence, stronger control over national resources, and less reliance on foreign powers.

⚔️ He faces a difficult reality. Burkina Faso continues to struggle with jihadist violence and a serious humanitarian crisis. Although his government says it is expanding security efforts and reclaiming territory, attacks and displacement remain major challenges. His administration has also faced criticism over human rights, restrictions on political freedoms, and the continuation of military rule.

🌍 He has become a symbol of hope for some young Africans who want leaders to challenge old power structures. Others question whether his government will deliver lasting security, democracy, and prosperity.

His story raises a powerful question: Can a new generation of African leadership turn promises of independence into real change for ordinary people?

Love him or question him, his leadership has sparked a debate Africa cannot ignore.

👇 AFRICANS, WHAT DO YOU THINK? Is Ibrahim Traoré helping Africa reclaim its independence, or should his government be judged more by its results than its words?

If you found this message informative, share it with others so more people can learn about Ibrahim Traoré and join the conversation. Let’s encourage thoughtful discussion about Africa’s leadership, security, freedom, and future.

BURKINA FASO BUILDS SECOND TOMATO PROCESSING PLANT IN TENKODOGO🚨🚨🚨

A second tomato processing plant is nearing completion in Tenkodogo, eastern Burkina Faso. The facility is located in the commune of Pédogo.

The plant will create 300 direct jobs and around 1,000 indirect jobs in production, transport, handling, and supply. The cost is estimated at 7.5 billion CFA francs.

The plant is already equipped and the first tests are scheduled for around September 15, 2026. Tomato production is expected to increase from November to meet the plant's needs.

The project is part of the government's industrialisation drive. The first plant in Bobo-Dioulasso is already operational.

Burkina Faso is building factories while Nigeria is still importing tomato paste. Traoré is creating jobs. Tinubu is still campaigning.

The contrast could not be starker.

What is stopping other African leaders from doing the same.

Burkina Faso has stopped crowning beauty queens. Now it is crowning its brightest young women in science.

On 8 June 2026, the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism suspended every beauty pageant in the country. No permits will be issued until new rules for these events are written. Officials said the aim is to protect Burkinabè cultural identity, moral and social values, and human dignity. Pageants had already faced growing criticism for focusing only on looks, and sponsors had been pulling back.

Three months later, a very different contest took the stage.

Hakili Mousso, a national competition set up to find and celebrate female science talent, held its first edition in Ouagadougou. Here is how it worked:

🔬 84 young women who passed the 2026 science baccalauréat, aged 21 or under, were picked on their grades
📚 They spent a week preparing at the National Science High School before sitting exams in maths, physics and chemistry
🏆 15 winners were honoured on 19 September, with prizes from 500,000 to 2 million CFA francs, plus motorbikes, computers, scholarships and fuel vouchers
🥇 Inès Nikiema topped chemistry with 18.73/20, Aminata Traoré led physics and Adjaratou Bama led maths

The contest is a presidential initiative. On 21 September, President Ibrahim Traoré hosted the winners at Koulouba Palace for an hour-long master class on science and national development. He urged them to set no limits on themselves and said the contest is not an imported gender policy. He also said boys could be allowed to compete next year.

Organisers say the goal is to draw more girls into scientific fields, where they remain a minority, and to build the skills the country needs in technology and industry.
