The 40-Hour Certified Safety, Health Environmental Manager (CSHEM)
classroom or online course provides a defined path for individuals
interested in reaching the next level in the SH&E field by becoming
responsible for the overall safety of a company or institution and who are
responsible for the administrative and legal aspects of management of the
safety, health or environmental position within a company. This program
allows the student to learn methods to supervise other safety, health or
environmental professionals, manage risk, and manage potential OSHA,
EPA or other governmental regulations.
A Certified Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager organizes, coordinates, and implements comprehensive safety and loss control/prevention programs and activities for the employer. The manager implements program goals and objectives, evaluates safety training requirements, inspect facilities and equipment for compliance with mandated safety regulations, perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of the assigned area of responsibility, and exercise fairly independent judgment and decision-making in the course of duties performed.
