Earth Day 2026: Collaboration in Action ๐โจ
Our mission for Earth Day wasnโt just about the cleanup; it was about fostering lasting change through education. We believe that a cleaner future starts with understanding the value of what we throw away.
This week, we led comprehensive training sessions focused on Plastic Segregation, working directly with:
Rangers at : Equipping them with the technical knowledge to manage waste within protected wildlife habitats.
The Gunjur Community: Engaging local members on how to properly sort and prepare plastic for the recycling pipeline.
By teaching the community how to bridge the gap between "litter" and "recyclable material," we are combating the burning, burying, and mismanagement of waste while improving the health and livelihoods of our people.
We were also proud to host two hours of dedicated education sessions for 36 students from Gunjur Kajabang, and Madina Salam through the study class, empowering the next generation of environmental stewards.
Following the training, volunteers put their skills to the test, clearing plastic waste from the Abuko Nature Reserve and the Gunjur coastline. Pollution remains a critical threat to our wildlife, and through these vital collaborations, we remain committed to protecting The Gambiaโs biodiversity.
A huge thanks to our partners for coming together to honour this important milestone:
