To enhance productivity and discipline in the civil service, the government has started installing real-time biometric attendance systems in public offices. Alhamdulilah!!

In many offices, it’s common for civil servants to arrive late and leave early, often forcing citizens to make multiple trips over several weeks just to access basic services.

Now, under the new system, if an employee is absent for 20 days, he or she will automatically be removed from the government payroll.

The project to install the biometric time and attendance systems was awarded to a Gambian company, Smart Business Group.

It was a great honor to be part of significant milestone for the Gambia Revenue Authority and support one of the Gambian government's strategic objectives.

Sogema Technologies with its local Partner Smart Business Group , guided by its mission, is proud to play a role in The Gambia's modernization journey through the deployment of the latest version of SIGTAS.

First introduced in the Asia-Pacific region in 2001, SIGTAS has since been adopted by 27 countries globally.
The Gambia's adoption of the latest SIGTAS version affirms our commitment to fostering robust fiscal management and sustainable economic growth.

The project, financed by the World Bank aims to modernize the revenue administration system of Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) of Gambia’s Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs. The implementation of the new solution will allow the Government of the Gambia to increase its capacity to collect taxes and drive government revenues in a transparent and accountable manner, thereby supporting public service investments such as the education, health, and infrastructure requirements of the country. In line with Sogema Technologies' mission, it is expected that the implementation of the latest version of SIGTAS, will contribute to the Gambia’s progress towards modernization and improved overall socio-economic well-being.
The SIGTAS solution, delivered by Sogema Technologies will introduce new features allowing the GRA to move from a paper-based system to a digital one which will allow taxpayers to submit their tax returns online. These new processes are expected to support tax compliance and provide the foundation for the government of the Gambia to execute and automate its economic policy while increasing collection rates and raising overall revenues for the country. The new system will also seek to optimize decision-making and improve collaboration between the GRA and external entities to help prevent tax evasion.
The tax solution SIGTAS was first implemented in Asia-Pacific in 2001 through a contract with the government of Timor-Leste. Since then, SIGTAS has been implemented in 27 countries worldwide; The Gambia will now benefit from SIGTAS with the latest version implementation. Providing a robust foundation for sound fiscal management and sustainable economic growth, SIGTAS is in constant development and is now used in more than 27 countries worldwide and counting.

Is seeking to hire qualified Candidates for the following positions;

Procurement Specialist.

Required qualifications:

▪ Minimum 2yrs experience in Procurement.
▪ Diploma Certificate in General Procurement.
▪ Competence in professional level computer operating systems.
▪ Ability to compile procurement Bidding Documents.
▪ Ability and willingness to cross train and multi task in various office responsibilities when needed.


Admin and Finance Officer.

Required qualifications:

▪ Minimum of 2yrs experience in Admin and Finance within a reputable organization.
▪ Minimum of a Diploma Certificate from a reputable Tertiary Institute.
▪ Experience in Book keeping
▪ Experience in managing Accounts payable and Accounts receivable.
