Doesn’t look mighty, but this small knotted, cutoff piece of plastic bag brought our 62 hp diesel engine to its knees! Sucked it into the raw water hose sometime before we anchored in Tres Puntas last night.
In the middle of the night, we started our engine in response to a thunderstorm, just in case we drug anchor. About an hour into the ordeal, the overheated alarm started blaring and we had to shut her down.
Thankfully, the storm event played out without incident. Marty was able to find and remove the offending baggie and we made it to Livingston with enough high tide left to cross the sandbar in time to check back into Guatemala!! Good to be back home!
