World Environment Day is a reminder that the environment is not separate from us, it is our home, our economy, and our future.
For Guyana, this day carries even deeper meaning. With our vast rainforests, rich
biodiversity, and growing role in global energy and development, we stand at a critical intersection between progress and preservation.
Our ecosystems are not only national treasures, but also vital contributors to global climate stability.
Protecting Guyana’s environment means protecting clean air, fertile land, freshwater resources, and the livelihoods of future generations. It also means ensuring that development is done responsibly, balancing growth with sustainability.
Today, we reaffirm the importance of conservation, responsible stewardship, and
collective action. Because a greener Guyana is a stronger Guyana.
