Something most importers find out too late:

If you're importing a licensed product — bath bombs, fragrances, personal care, household goods — your factory doesn't just need to pass a pre-shipment inspection.

It needs to be approved by the licensor before a single unit goes into production.

P&G, Nickelodeon, Netflix/MGM, Hasbro — they each have their own audit requirements, their own documentation, their own CAPA process if gaps are found on first inspection.

Importers who skip or rush this step don't just get delays. They get productions blocked. Licensor approval pulled. Inventory stuck in China while the EU launch window closes.

Licensed products are one slice of what we do. We work with European importers across all product categories. Whether your product requires a licensor audit or not — something always needs managing before production starts, and something always needs verifying before the container ships. That's what we've been doing for over 25 years.

𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮.
They think a contract protects them.

A contract signed with a Chinese factory has legal force. But enforcing it means 6–18 months of proceedings, legal costs often higher than the dispute value, and courts that — even with good intentions — favour local players.

𝗜𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

What actually works in China is something called 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘅𝗶 (关系). It means relationships — but not in the way we use that word in Europe. It's a web of mutual obligations, trust, and loyalty built over years. It carries more weight than any notarially signed document.

When a factory has a production delay and must decide whose order to fulfil first — the old acquaintance who's been coming for 15 years, or the foreign importer they're seeing for the first time — the decision is obvious.

When a quality problem arises — factories fix problems for those with whom they have guanxi.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. It's an ethos of reciprocity and trust — closer to honour than to bribery. And it cannot be bought or accelerated. It emerges through years of shared experiences, meals, difficult moments, and solved problems.

We've been building it for over 𝟮𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.

If you're sourcing licensed consumer goods — personal care, bath & body, household products — 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁. 𝗣&𝗚, 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗚𝗠/𝗡𝗲𝘁𝗳𝗹𝗶𝘅, 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗼 — each with their own audit requirements, their own documentation, their own standards.

𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀. You face productions blocked weeks before your launch window.

We've been managing this process for European importers for 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 — from licensor factory audits through production oversight to pre-shipment inspection.
