“Your Life. Your Story” workshop
Nami Ishihara and I are thrilled to share our passion for facilitation and the power of storytelling in a group setting. We believe that storytelling has the power to make a positive difference in the world, and we are dedicated to exploring how to facilitate stories to create empathy, understanding, and connection between individuals.
During our recent "Your life. Your story" workshop with the International Association of Facilitators Hong Kong (IAFHK), we felt honored to guide participants on a journey of self-discovery and community building through storytelling. We were fascinated by the "walking the story" method developed by Jimmie White, which involved movement and visualization techniques to bring personal stories to life.
Through this process, we saw firsthand how sharing personal stories in a group setting can create a sense of empathy and understanding between individuals and foster a greater sense of belonging and acceptance in society. We believe that storytelling is a powerful tool for building relationships and creating a positive impact on our communities.
As passionate facilitators, we emphasized the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for participants to share their stories. We discussed the skills and techniques necessary to guide the group through the storytelling process and create a positive impact on our communities.
We were inspired by the diverse group of individuals who joined us on this journey of self-discovery and community building. We learned a lot from their personal stories and were touched by the connections and sense of belonging that were built throughout the workshop.
Overall, we believe that storytelling has the power to bring people together and create a sense of community. We are excited to continue exploring its potential in future endeavors and to make a positive difference in the world through the power of storytelling.
