Looks like a great race

The Great Cape Race shall take competitors around the iconic Great Capes. Starting in October 2021, the race shall follow the traditional clipper route round the world, taking competitors around the three iconic Great Capes. The big ocean legs shall provide the ultimate proving ground for speed, strategy and mental spirit.

Eligible boats shall be Grand Prix Racing Yachts over 60ft in length. Boats shall be handicapped using a modified ORC handicapping system, factoring each yacht’s predicted velocity parameters, ensuring boats of different designs can race on even terms.

++ SUN HUNG KAI SCALLYWAG 100 PROGRAM UPDATE ++

Due to ongoing challenges related to Covid-19 and continued uncertainty regarding international and interstate border openings, Team Sun Hung Kai Scallywag has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the Sydney To Hobart yacht race this year.

2020 has been a tough year for everyone including the sailing community and teams comprised of internationally based sailors. The Scallywags are now looking forward to coming back strong in 2021. Stay tuned for more program announcements in the coming weeks.

Thanks to all our sponsors and supporters for sticking with us through this difficult year and we look forward to getting back on the water and sending it again soon! Never Give Up.

Happy 50th Birthday to John Fisher beloved family member, friend and crew mate. We especially think of Kirsten, Ryan, Amy and the extended Fisher family on this his special day.

Today we raise a glass in Fish’s honour, celebrating a life well lived, smiling as we remember the good times spent together, and reflecting on the man we all so dearly miss.
