把它拆開，清理乾淨，加固，然後重新組裝❤️‍🔥

SEAMLESS TIPS for old-school kit 🤓

Older kits often come with heavy seam lines and soft, poorly defined details—and this hydraulic cylinder is especially difficult to clean up.

Because it is molded as one enclosed piece, the inner surfaces are almost impossible to reach with regular sanding tools.

The solution?
Separate it, clean it up, reinforce it, and rebuild it properly❤️‍🔥

TOOLS USED:

🔹 MADWORKS XS-020 0.2 mm Hand Saw
🔹 Acrylic Sanding Board + Self-Adhesive Sandpaper
🔹 BR-003 1.0 mm Brass Rod
🔹 MH-21 Brass Rod Cutter
🔹 PTA-01 Tungsten Carbide Triangular Scraper

With the right tools, we can:

✔️ Reach the hidden seam lines
✔️ Create a sharper step between the cylinders
✔️ Restore the mechanical structure
✔️ Reinforce the rebuilt parts with brass pins
✔️ Achieve a much cleaner final result

從這個例子中，側裙板上的推進器開口位於一個傾斜的表面上，導致其形狀和邊緣看起來不夠清晰。

以下是我們銳化它的方法：

🔹 0.15 mm — 加深並重新勾勒外緣

🔹 0.5 毫米 — 加深凹陷區域並優化開口角度

🔹 0.3–0.4 mm — 增強較突出的結構面板線，例如腰部周圍的線條

YOUR SCRIBER CAN DO MORE THAN DEEPEN PANEL LINES‼️

Deepening panel lines helps panel liner flow more smoothly and produces cleaner, sharper results.

But that’s not all a scriber can do.

It can also help correct details softened or distorted by the mold’s draft angles—restoring the sharper, more defined appearance the part was intended to have. ❤️‍🔥

In this example, the thruster opening on the side skirt sits on an angled surface, causing its shape and edges to appear softer and less defined.

Here’s how we sharpened it:

💙 0.15 mm — Deepen and redefine the outer edges
💙 0.5 mm — Deepen the recessed area and refine the angle of the opening
💙 0.3–0.4 mm — Enhance more prominent structural panel lines, such as those around the waist

With only a small amount of careful work, the thruster gains noticeably more depth, sharper edges, and a much stronger three-dimensional appearance.

Scriber sizes from 0.1 to 0.5 mm all have their own uses in everyday model building. If you’re unsure which sizes you’ll need, having a complete set gives you the flexibility to handle everything from fine details to wider structural lines.
