Safety in Action: Successful Lead Acid Battery Incident Handling Drill
---
completed a lead acid battery incident emergency drill at the Telehouse CCC Data Centre in August 2026. This exercise was conducted by our team to validate our Standard Operating Procedures ( ) under battery failure scenarios, while strengthening and overall operational resilience. ๐ขโก
During the drill, our engineering team executed predefined response procedures. This included immediate smoke alarm identification at the AFA panel, swift on-site verification in the battery room, and rapid incident escalation to management. To ensure strict , team members deployed full Personal Protective Equipment ( ) โ including respirators, acid-resistant clothing, protective goggles, and rubber boots โ before safely entering the affected area. ๐ฆบ๐ง
The team successfully isolated the faulty battery and corresponding by switching off the relevant MCCBs on the LVSB, contained the smoke with a portable fire extinguisher under safe conditions, and confirmed that the critical load was seamlessly supported by the remaining functioning UPS systems. This guaranteed continuous, stable, and safe operations throughout the simulated incident. ๐ป๐
The drill also covered our enhanced response procedure following the installation of the Emergency Power Off ( ) system. This technology enables engineers to isolate a faulty battery rapidly at the push of a button, further reducing response times and minimizing exposure risks. The successful exercise underscores HKCOLO's strong capabilities in and service reliability. ๐๐ก๏ธ
Customers and industry partners were invited to observe the drill firsthand, gaining deep insights into HKCOLO's engineering expertise and structured emergency management framework. We deeply value the continued trust of our clients and remain committed to and maximum infrastructure protection. โค๏ธ๐ค
