Old work, before we became SUNVisual, designed by the late Melvin Santoso Melvin | Visual Branding who had recently passed. I remember Melvin’s tenacious work ethics and creative explorations, or his Avenged Sevenfold “Dear God” looping on and on… Such as this desk calendar for CBN, it was such a pleasure to see him work hard on this. We are proud of his accomplishments, being a studio head and winning the Jaklingko visual identity competition. Our condolences to his family and beloved. We will hold him dear as our studio’s family… we’ll miss him but never forget.

Jakarta on the move. A worthwhile collaboration with arsitektur indonesia Avianti Armand setiadi sopandi this editorial publication showcases the historical development of Jakarta, spanning more than five centuries of archives, documentations, and narratives. Created to celebrate this expansive metropolis and the 60th anniversary of Jaya Group, the publication is divided into historical periods of Jakarta’s development, marked by the book spine color gradually ascending from red to orange—the color identified with the city. The covers capture movements of progress and growth, while the layout is modern, slightly dynamic, and informational. Each chapters are color coded to mark section topics. The entire volumes are encased in a sleeve box, white and simple, purposefully surprising readers when pulling out the book to reveal the colorful covers.

This editorial was a labor of love crossing over the pandemics.
