Working on a Major land slide on strickeen mountain where a large section of the path got totally wiped away
Weather not helping but we are getting their 😔 .

Back to where we started doing maintenance nearly nine years on and still as good as day one
Definitely more of this work is needed to maintain our mountains

Folks, recently a thoughtless individual stole the Glencar sign that was put in a few months back. This lovely sign was a product of a lot of work and collaboration between the Glencar community the Forum and Kerry County Council. Unfortunately we don't the funds needed to replace it at the moment so we are asking anyone who can spare some change to donate to our GoFundMe to replace the sign and make it more secure. Nice to be back doing maintenance works where we started nearly five years ago on the beautiful . Path
Maintenance is the key to the upkeep of the paths first picture shows how quickly walkers drift away from main path picture 2 shows maintenance required to bring main path back into use

The perspective hiker may spot a cleverly concealed drain on the mountain trail. These culverts are often placed at the crossing of streams or areas with heavy rainfall. They are built to divert much larger volumes of water than the standard crossdrain. Some culverts use plastic pipes but where possible we like to use native stone found close to the trail to build a durable structure that blends in nicely with their surroundings.

Lovely to be back doing some maintenance on the **leway again will never get tired of these stunning views Such a pity to see some of our cross drains blocked with stones to facilitate bikes. Blocking these drains will cause serious path damage during heavy rain /showers so please feel free to remove if out walking or drop us a message and we will see after thanks **le
