What an amazing year !! 🥇

We are incredibly proud to receive the Business All Star All Ireland Mayo Champion Solar and Electrical Company of the Year 2026 to 2027!!

We have built Abhaile from a family business into the growing company, so receiving national recognition for the second year while representing Mayo means so much to us. For Donal, who is from Shrule, Co. Mayo, the Mayo recognition makes it particularly sweet. 🌳

The timing couldn’t feel more exciting. Renewable energy is entering such an important period of growth, while we are expanding our team and preparing to open our new office in Headford. To be recognised at this point in our journey means the world to us ❤️

🎙️ A little exciting news to share!
On Tuesday, 22nd September, I’ll be joining the AIBF Business Talks podcast to talk about the journey behind Abhaile Solar.
I’ll be sharing some of the story so far, the lessons we’ve learned along the way, the challenges that have shaped us, and our ambitions and intentions for where we want to take the business next.

I’m really looking forward to having an open conversation with Elaine about what we’re building, why we’re building it, and what comes next.
A proud moment for me personally and for the whole Abhaile Solar team. ☀️
I’ll share the podcast once it goes live!

WE ARE HIRING!!

Solar Technical Advisor & Site Surveyor

We are looking for a technically minded, personable individual to join our team.

This is not a traditional sales role.
Our approach is to understand the property, listen to the customer and recommend the solar and battery solution that genuinely makes sense for them. We don’t believe in sending traditional salespeople in suits to customers’ homes.

You’ll manage the customer from initial site survey through to quotation. This includes carrying out site surveys, assessing electrical and roof installation requirements, preparing accurate quotations, following up on quotes and answering customers’ questions about the proposed system.

You’ll need to be comfortable explaining technical information in a simple, straightforward way and helping customers understand why a particular solution has been recommended.

We’re looking for someone with a strong electrical or technical background who is confident dealing with people.

You might currently be an electrician, solar installer or electrical technician who enjoys the technical side and dealing with customers, but would like to move away from being on the tools full time.

No sales experience required. No commission. No hard sell.

What matters to us is technical understanding, good judgement, attention to detail and giving customers advice they can trust.

Previous solar experience would be a distinct advantage, but training will be provided for the right person.

The role:

Full time or part time

Salary €50,000 to €65,000 depending on experience, pro rata for part time. Main office is located in Headford, Co.Galway and we mainly cover the Connaught region.

Company vehicle, phone and equipment provided

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

☀️ Delighted to see more Abhaile Solar installations right here in Headford, Co. Galway!
There’s a real advantage to choosing a local solar installer. We’re close by if anything ever needs attention after your installation!

We’ve just launched our new online pricing calculator, making it easier than ever to get an idea of your quote in just seconds.

🌟 Exciting announcement !!
One of the biggest frustrations we hear from homeowners is having to wait days or weeks for a quote, or feeling like they have to give out their details just to get a rough idea of the price. We have been no exception.

We thought there had to be a better way! So we've just built an Instant Solar Quote Calculator on our website where you will get a realistic estimate of your solar PV installation cost in just seconds.

Every home is different, so your final quotation will be confirmed after a site assessment. But as we like transparency and honesty, and customers having access to pricing from the beginning, this is a very exciting step forward!

Sam Maguire in Shrule with the castle and the green where Donal and the lads played football as kids and dreamt of bringing Sam back to Shrule in the background. A few lads who played there came damn close to doing it. Proud day for the parish 💚❤️
