World Alzheimer’s Day:
Alzheimer’s is a common form of dementia. Every year September 21 is observed as World Alzheimer’s Day. Alzheimer’s is a degenerative brain disease that causes memory loss and makes it difficult to think clearly. The loss of neurons spreads to other parts of the brain in a rather predictable fashion and by the last stages of the disease, the brain has already shrunk greatly. This will cause loss of memory.
It is important to raise awareness about this brain condition since Alzheimer’s disease affects about 6 percent of people aged 65 years and older but an average of 2 out of 3 people globally have little or no understanding of it nor of dementia, as previous studies indicate. People should have proper knowledge of what Alzheimer’s is all about and take necessary care of them.
One can help them by individualizing dementia care, providing life care, support for family members, protecting people suffering from it with timely care, early diagnosis to improve a patient’s condition, discussion, destigmatization, putting the needs of the patient and family first, etc. "Let's Care Them"❤️
