Delighted to organise a tour of City Hall and the Lord Mayor’s Office for Ógra Fianna Fáil Cork South Central this week.

A sincere thank you to Lord Mayor Cllr. Fergal Dennehy for his warm welcome and for sharing his insights into the role and history of the office. It was a great opportunity for our members to learn more about local government in Cork. We’ve had some great craic and nice talks throughout the meeting.

Thank you also to Ógra Munster Organiser John O Mahony for joining us, and to everyone who attended and made the evening such a success.

My first tour of Dáil Éireann was a great experience. Thanks to Ballyphehane Tidy Towns & the Ballyphehane Community for the invitation and to Pádraig Rice TD for hosting us.

We learned about the day-to-day work in Leinster House and watched parts of the Dáil and Seanad. A very welcoming group with a strong community spirit.

Delighted to hear the parliamentary party addressing this issue. I spoke with a member of the EDIT group (End Discrimination Inheritance Tax) a couple of days ago, and it feels like meaningful reform is only a matter of time.

Equal and fair treatment is needed. One threshold set for every Irish citizen, at least €460,000 tax-free or higher.

I look forward to working with party colleagues, and members of the EDIT group to ensure this reform gets implemented.

Inheritance tax discrimination affects everyone and it is vital that these changes be made hopefully as soon as possible.

Ógra Fianna Fáil Cork South Central are aware of this, and fully support reform to our inheritance tax laws.

Thank you Deputy John Lahart TD for raising this important issue.

James Sexton from Cork, a member of the EDIT group will be on RTE1 on Monday Morning at 9:30AM (13th April), highly recommend tuning in will be interesting.
