Stepping into senior leadership asks new things of a person, and it helps to have good company while you find your feet.

Growing as a Leader is one of the two cohorts on the NCCSI Thriving Leaders Programme. It's for people building their experience and confidence in senior leadership, developing their own leadership style and learning to lead well through others.

The support is practical and matched to that stage, with delegation, prioritisation and building a team worked through alongside a small group of peers navigating the same questions. Mantra's leadership development facilitators guide the sessions, and participants have the Mantra Thrive platform to keep the learning going in between.

The programme is fully funded, and applications are open until 30 October.

Culture in any organisation takes its lead from the top, whether leaders intend it to or not.

When it comes to equity, diversity and inclusion, people notice what leadership pays attention to, names openly, and returns to even when it is inconvenient. A working group can carry the intent for a while, and yet it rarely holds unless the people with the most influence are visibly behind it.

That is the Leadership in our LIFE frame: Leadership, Infrastructure, Fairness and Engagement. It shows up as visible commitment, the capability to act on it and accountability for following through, returned to often enough that people come to believe it.

It was one of the threads running through our Impact Culture Session on EDIB in construction with Jan Glenn, Head of HR at PJ Hegarty, and Paula Fagan. You can watch the full session anytime on our YouTube channel.

Some of the best thinking a leader does happens away from the day-to-day, when there is finally room for it.

That room is at the heart of the NCCSI Thriving Leaders Programme, which we're delivering with Genio and Rethink Ireland. It's a fully funded leadership development programme for people leading across Ireland's social innovation, social enterprise, charity and community sectors, built around practical learning, expert facilitation and time with peers who understand the work.

Leaders join one of two cohorts depending on where they are in their own leadership journey, with sessions running from November into next spring. We'll share more about each cohort over the coming weeks.

Applications are open until 30 October.

This weekend, Lisa-Nicole is heading to Ballymaloe for The Entrepreneur Experience 2026, and we’re delighted that Mantra Strategy is one of the businesses selected to take part.

Organised by AxisBic the Entrepreneur Experience has been bringing together some of Ireland’s most promising companies since 2011. Over two days, founders and CEOs from food, technology, engineering and beyond spend time with seasoned business leaders and industry experts, exploring how to grow and scale.

Thank you to the team at AxisBIC and to The Currency for including us, and to everyone supporting this year’s event. We’re looking forward to sharing what we learn.

Some news we're very proud to share: Lisa-Nicole has been named a Finalist in the Women Helping Women, Social Change category at the Global Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

It's a particularly meaningful recognition, because it reflects something central to Lisa-Nicole's work and to Mantra's purpose: helping change who gets to thrive.

The category brings together women from around the world whose work is creating change for others, and we won't know whether it's Gold, Silver or Bronze until the awards in New York in November.

It follows more good news from last month when Mantra Thrive won a Bronze Stevie at the International Business Awards. That award recognised an idea that has been at the heart of our work over the past year: creating a different kind of support system around purpose-led leaders and teams.

For something we built from the ground up to be recognised internationally is a brilliant milestone for the whole Mantra team, and for all the Thrivers, Associates, mentors and partners who helped shape it.

We're delighted to see both Lisa-Nicole and an idea that started here at Mantra recognised on a global stage. Fingers crossed for New York!

The Stevie Awards

We're proud to share a new partnership. Mantra is working with Genio and Rethink Ireland to deliver the Thriving Leaders Programme for the National Competence Centre for Social Innovation (NCCSI), in partnership with the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht and the Department of Further and Higher Education Research Innovation & Science.

The programme gives social innovation leaders protected space to step back from day-to-day demands, strengthen their leadership practice, learn from peers and think differently about how they lead.

Two cohorts will take part, Growing as a Leader and Leading at Scale, each bringing together leaders from across Ireland who are at a similar point in their own journey.

Our part is one we love. Mantra's leadership development facilitators will lead the sessions, and every participant will have access to the platform alongside them.

What leaders share in the room will also inform recommendations to funders and government on how social innovation is supported in Ireland.

It means a great deal to be trusted with this work, alongside partners we admire.

Applications are now open until 30th October 2026 at 5pm.

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, and this year's theme is "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change."

We see that theme lived out through organisations we're lucky to work alongside.

At Su***de Or Survive, courageous conversations sit at the centre of everything they do.

At Grow Mental Health, weekly peer support groups are led by people who know the road themselves.

Grow are marking the day itself with a special evening in Kilkenny: tenor Paul Byrom in concert at St Canice's Cathedral, joined by the Cois Nore community choir.

Every ticket supports free mental health support across Ireland.

A warm welcome to ActionAid Ireland, who we've just begun working with on a focused Strategy Sprint and Impact Framework.

ActionAid is an international women's rights organisation, standing with women and girls as they lead change in their own communities, through humanitarian emergencies and in the push for climate and economic justice.

They already have a strong strategic direction. Our work together builds on it, sharpening priorities and strengthening how the organisation understands and demonstrates its impact.

It's a privilege to work alongside a team so clear about who they are here for. More to come as the work unfolds.
