It’s stories like this that genuinely make us so happy and continue to do what we do. Gráinne and Kieran met at our Cork Singles Summer BBQ in the summer of 2025 and we couldn’t be happier for them. Here is the full story from Gráinne:
“Back in August 2025 I was signed up to go to your event at the Rooftop at Clancy’s Cork . That week I really wasn’t in the mood, trying to get kids organised for school, there was a lot going on. When the day arrived I decided to go. Two of my friends were going too so we’d have a bit of craic anyway. I had been at the same event the year before so I knew what to expect, and I went in with my game face on.
At the top of the stairs I was presented with a glass of prosecco and a cartoon couple card, and the ice-breaker was to find the guy with the matching card. I had so much fun that day, chatted to so many lovely girls and guys, but one guy caught my eye. Red t-shirt, arm tattoo, confident. But I hadn’t plucked up the courage to talk to him.
So I’m chatting to another lovely lad, and he says “oh what card do you have?” and I showed him. He didn’t have the matching card, but he knew who did! “He’s wearing a red t-shirt, has a tattoo,” he told me 💗. A few minutes later red-t-shirt guy arrived over to our group, I whipped out my card, he whipped out his (card!), we had a hug, went to the bar for our free shot and had our first kiss later that evening as I rushed off for the last bus home.
Fast forward 1 year later, we’ve had our first Christmas together, birthdays, trips to London, Spain, Warsaw. We’ve done our first doubles Hyrox together. We’ve met each other’s kids and had a blended family city break. And we have lots more adventures planned together.
