Road Safety Week will take place between October 7th- 13th. Tyre Safety Day is on Monday the 7th of October. An Garda Síochána will be actively checking tyre conditions that day.

Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit stopped a car today on the dual carriageway and a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice was issued to the driver in relation to one of the rear tyres which was defective.

Please check your tyres regularly, especially as Winter is approaching. Your tyres are the only point of contact between you and the road and you rely on them to keep you and others safe when travelling. Ensure that your vehicle is Winter ready. Start by checking your tyres!
