LOT 21 ** I CAN FIND EM ** Goresbridge Horse Sales
I Can Find Em has had the misfortune of coming up against two very smart prospects in each of his two outings this spring. Having only been beaten six lengths on his debut at Borris House back in November, he returned from a short mid-season break to finish second at Lingstown behind Jonathan Fogarty’s impressive €78,000 store Pelican Hill. The Court Cave gelding then had to settle for runners-up honours on the big Easter Saturday card at Loughanmore, when chasing home another impressive maiden winner in Common Sense. Notably, I Can Find Em managed to pull 18 lengths clear of the third, who was a half-brother to the two-time Grade 1 winning, The New One, highlighting the level that he likely ran to in defeat here. It certainly looks like there are races to be won with him.

**LOT 11** CONNA KING ** Goresbridge Horse Sales 23RD APRIL
Conna King is a half-brother to the Grade 2 Prestige Novices’ Hurdle winner Alaphilippe, a horse that took five attempts to win his point-to-point, but Conna King looks like he would be capable of beating him to that initial success, following two placed finishes from his opening two efforts. Third behind an impressive €92,000 store at Tinahely, he showed likeable progression when re-appearing a month later in Monksgrange, as despite getting outjumped and coming under pressure along the back straight, he overcame getting badly hampered at the third-last fence, to finish a promising second. A staying type with a likeable attitude, this race contained several notable types, with the winner a €62,000 store, whilst the fourth had cost €120,000 at the store sales, suggesting it was a race to note.

P2P.ie Review: Berkstar made a very promising start to his career at Kirkistown at the end of last month, when he only found one rival too good. That was a well-related and expensive French-bred, who had the run of the race from the front of the field. Berkstar, to his credit, showed plenty of pace on this occasion, as he made a notable blunder at a crucial point two-out, just as the winner made his move for home. The speed that he produced here to recoup the lost ground which had been surrendered by the mistake was notable, as he went on to finish a close second. The form has already received a timely boost, with the third horse, who finished some four lengths behind him, coming out and winning a four-year-old auction maiden at Loughanmore on Monday, which has to give extra confidence to the performance he produced.

BERKSTAR (IRE) 4YO son of Berkshire, 2nd on Debut - a brother to four winners on the flat and over jumps, sustained interference on the inner after four out, and he eased closer to go second after two out, quickening in the process. Whilst he then couldn't cope with the superior turn of foot shown by the winner in the final analysis, this was still an extremely smart debut performance from this mainly flat-bred gelding whose dam is a half-sister to Grade 1 Hong Kong Vase winner Dominant. He is another that seems sure to hold a bright track future, and he should easily slot in over two and a half miles on the track if this performance is anything to go by.

LOT 9 Fernando Dando Cheltenham Festival Sale 12th March https://www.tattersallscheltenham.com/sales/cheltenham-festival-sale/4DCGI/Sale/CFS26/Main/9
Fernando Dando produced a very encouraging debut effort when finishing second in a division of the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Lingstown. Settled in mid-division early on, the son of Libertarian made good headway to dispute the lead before four out and briefly found himself in front approaching the home straight. Despite being unable to match the gears of the eventual winner on the run to the last, he kept on stoutly to finish a clear second, drawing six lengths clear of the third. Closely related to the eight-time track winner Moroder, he showed a likeable attitude on this initial outing and shaped like a gelding capable of progressing much further in time.
