Michael Fitzgerald is based in Dungarvan, County Waterford. Michael is a Counsellor, a Psychotherapist, an Eating Disorder Practitioner, a Life and Business Coach and he also has a Degree in Psychology. Michael's approach to counselling is compassionate, supportive, and non judgemental. The process of counselling is confidential and the role of the counsellor is to provide time and space to help.

He is primarily an Adlerian Therapist, Adlerian Therapy is based on the work of Alfred Adler. It is solution focused and works mainly in the area of goals and values. It focuses on what a person wants and also on methods to help someone make a contribution to life and to work with others in a co-operative democratic way. Michael also uses Jungian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Socratic Questioning, and generally will help people at whatever stage they are in life. He has worked in the education system, in the youth service, as a lecturer, with people with special needs, and as a trainer. Michael is a member of the Adlerian Network of Ireland, the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and the British Psychological Society, and adheres to all their ethics and principles.
