We are a group of homeowners in County Clare, whose homes were built with defective blocks, containing deleterious materials (Pyrite). The first signs of this problem is usually horizontal and vertical cracking on the weather facing gable and walls. These spread throughout the building, both outside and inside. This cracking is an indicator that the blocks are defective, break easily and eventually crumble. Our aim is to raise awareness of the problem, come together and lobby for extension of the Remediation Grant Scheme for Dwellings Damaged By The Use of Defective Concrete Blocks (2020), to include County Clare.
