Do you agree?

"Mark Doyle, chief executive of OMT Global, said the survey findings are "a wake-up call" for senior leaders as the stress levels being experienced by employees, particularly women - are not sustainable.

"We are in danger of seeing employee burnout in the very near future, potentially eroding the huge strides made in improving female participation and progression in Irish workforces," Mr Doyle said.

He also said the fact that employees are feeling increasingly disconnected from their teams and their organisations is of great concern."

A new survey reveals that 60% of employees in Ireland are feeling more stressed since the onset of Covid-19, with 67% of women reporting increased levels of stress compared with 45% of men.

Kinsale's Youth Cafe are looking for a part-time youth worker to co-ordinate the cafe and engage with young people in the community, initially on a 6 month contract. A great opportunity to gain experience and make a difference supporting young people in south Cork.

The committee wishes to appoint a Youth Worker (20 hours per week) who will be responsible for the overall supervision of the Cafe. The ideal candidate will have an ability to identify the needs of young people in the area and devise appropriate responses to meet these needs.

Another big employer announcing a long term (post Covid) flexible working from home policy with a focus on a) trusting employees & b) outcomes/results rather than hours worked.

More smaller indigenous organisations need to adapt their attitudes & policies too if they want to continue to attract talent post Covid. Times have changed & employees & managers have proven they can perform remotely when needed.

And in the shorter/medium term they also need to provide support, understanding & flexibility to help their employees manage the Covid/homeschooling juggle which may become reality in the coming months again.

CEO of Siemens: "The basis for this forward-looking working model... will also be associated with a different leadership style, one that focuses on outcomes rather than on time spent at the office. We trust our employees and empower them to shape their work themselves so that they can achieve the best possible results. With the new way of working, we're motivating our employees while improving the company's performance capabilities and sharpening Siemens' profile as a flexible and attractive employer."

Siemens' new remote work policy is a master class in emotional intelligence.

: What in your life or career is knocking on your door & asking you to step up to? Do it, step by step!

So many of my clients know in their hearts what they really want to do or have opportunities that they could grasp in work or in their career, but something is holding them back from grabbing those opportunities & making the impact they really want to make & know they CAN make...

Other clients spend months or years gathering the courage to proactively seek opportunities like a promotion or giving a presentation & when they finally do, they are sorry they didn't do it earlier.

Sound familiar? If so, have a think about this systemic coaching question & all potential opportunities in your life or career that you might love & thrive in if you don't say no for once. And think about who in your life & world would benefit as a result.

So say YES this time, or make the request & then just take the next best step, one step at a time... You can do it!
