Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC is ending all grandfathered plans as of December 31st. If you make too much or don't want the hassle of dealing with healthcare.gov (some have argued that it was built by a bunch of intoxicated chimpanzees), we have found several viable options.

For those priced out of the "Affordable Healthcare Act" health insurance plans, I may have a solution. Right now, I'm focusing on NC and CA. If your family rates are over $800/month, and no one has any complex or chronic health issues, our alternatives might be worth investigating. Just email me to get details. Changes are coming, yes, but great options for those who don't qualify for subsidized health insurance are actually available now. Currently, we can only work with people and companies based in North Carolina and Virginia. In some cases we are cutting costs 25-50%! YES! Not a typo!

A small part of Heckinger & Associates deals with clients who have to buy health insurance through www.healthcare.gov. If you are a client of ours, PLEASE follow these steps BEFORE calling us for an appointment:
1. Log in to your account and update your information for 2017.
2. If you have any problems logging in, call the "Market Place" at
1-800-318-2596. They are the only ones who can fix your
situation. Ask them to help you get your Eligibility Notice.
3. Once you've done the above, then call our office for guidance
on choosing the best plan for you.

I anticipate a frantic, busy, and "glitchy" Open Enrollment Period ("OEP"), which starts November 1st and ends January 31, 2017.
If you need a January 1, 2017 effective date, you must have your application completed by December 15, 2016.

Please tell all your friends who have to buy health insurance this way the above information.

One FINAL NOTE: we are not able to accept any new ACA health insurance clients at this time. We will be able to help only existing clients.

ATTENTION HECKINGER CLIENTS:
It's that time of year again! Right now is a great time for us to take a look at your current Medicare plan to make sure it's providing the benefits you need. If there are any changes for 2017, your current plan may not provide the same benefits.
