The Wandering Jew is a houseplant that can be grown in a hanging basket to show off its long beautiful trailing vines or kept contained and compact in a pot. Very versatile, very easy and very hard to kill, makes this a very good indoor plant to have around.

Some more pics of our sapota plant. Thank you for the overwhelming response on our previous post. I have read most of the queries. Since most of the questions were repetitive I decided to make this post.

1) Container used : I have used a 20L water can for growing the sapota plant. (I have cut open the opening of the can to increase the circumference)

2) Two years back I had brought this sapota sapling from a local nursery in Kerala. But one can also propagate using sapota seeds.

3) I have used "only" my kitchen compost as manure.

4) Choose an area with plenty of sunlight (atleast 6 to 8 hrs per day). The fruit tree is tolerant to most climatic conditions but prefers a sunny, warm and forst-free location.

5) Watering : If the sapota plant is planted on a small container then it has to be watered everyday otherwise watering is to be done every 10-15 days in winter and at weekly intervals during summer.

Yes! It is possible to grow sapota (chikoo) in water cans. Here is the picture of our sapota plant in our small terrace garden :)
