Job Vacancy: Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Company: Interview Kickstart
Location: Remote (India)
Experience: 3 – 7 years
Recruiter: Deepti Leslie, Interview Kickstart

About Interview Kickstart
Interview Kickstart (IK) helps candidates nail the toughest tech interviews—especially for top-tier companies like Google, Facebook, and Netflix. Our instructors are current and former hiring managers from these very companies. We run an intensive 2-month prep course that equips candidates to crack elite-level interviews. IK has grown 5x in the last 2 years — almost entirely through word-of-mouth. Now, we’re scaling fast.

Your Role
As a Senior SDET, you'll take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks for both web (Next.js) and API (Python/Django) systems. You’ll also help define a future-forward, AI-first testing strategy. While automation is your primary focus, you'll also perform manual testing when needed. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior QA engineers.

What You’ll Be Doing

Design, build, and maintain reusable automation frameworks (UI, API, performance, security).

Drive an AI-first testing strategy: integrate AI-driven test case generation, self-healing tests, and validation.

Implement and scale Playwright-based automation for web apps (Next.js + Django backend).

Perform manual testing for exploratory or edge-case scenarios.

Build and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and continuous test coverage.

Identify bottlenecks, risks, and gaps in the automation pipeline and resolve proactively.

Ensure tests are maintainable, reliable, and scalable — focus on frameworks, not throwaway scripts.

Mentor junior QA engineers and work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to raise quality standards.

What You Bring

4+ years of experience in automation testing (SDET) with a strong engineering mindset.

Experience building scalable, reusable test frameworks (not just isolated scripts).

Hands-on expertise with Playwright.

Experience in manual testing (exploratory, edge cases, quick validations).

Familiarity with Python / Django and JavaScript / Next.js systems.

Good debugging skills and ability to research issues (online searching).

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Experience mentoring or guiding other QA engineers.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first setup.

Why You’ll Enjoy Working With Us

Fully remote / work-from-home role.

Cutting-edge tech stack and testing strategy.

An AI-first approach to testing.

High ownership, trust, and autonomy.

Rapid career growth — opportunity to scale as IK scales.
