SO WHY AREN’T YOU CONSIDERED CREATIVE?
General perception is that a creative person is someone who sings or draws or indulges in fine arts. But the truth is that there are so many avenues around us, all the time, to be creative, that we go through these situations and instances unaware of the possibilities.
Most of the time we are conditioned to lay out a standard response to the situations we face. Sometimes just the demand for a quick response precludes the search for alternate choices.
“Stop- Think- Act” is not an option in many cases. In situations where this is an option, we do not stop to think, but jump to action.
One of the reasons this happens is because we are not present in that moment- we just are not “there”.
We just are not sensitive to the possibilities of the instant. We just zip through without a pause to look around or ask what else?
Can we just apply brakes and look around for a moment?
Can you now take a deep breathe, be conscious of the sounds around you, the air that you breath, the taste that is lingering in your mouth, the temperature of your surroundings and see (not look at) the objects around you?
In many ways, this sensitivity or increased perception helps one to have a deeper connect to the own self and to the world around. It doesn’t take much time or effort- go ahead try it now.
