The 5 I's of Self Development:
Hi, This is Suresh Balachandar from Athenus Centre for Excellence again. In this post I would like to describe the 5 I's essential for self development
Everybody here would accept "Awareness" is the starting point for self development, hence i am stating the process after the awareness has come to one.
Introspect/Inspect
This should be the first I to be focused on. If we dont know where we are right now, we cannot wish to go the desired height as there will be very less clarity. The honest Introspection will let us know what we have and what we need to attain the desired result
Interact:
There is a reason why Humans are called as Social Animals. However honest we may be, but in introspecting ourselves we can never be sure about what we have done. So speaking with friends, Peers, Subordinates, family members definitely helps, Take every input and again put that into Introspection and get a clear Idea.
Implement:
Then having got what we need, the next step is to design an action plan. Have a goal and then break them into tiny process and check whether the processes are regularly and duly followed. The implementation part is the most hardest but stick on to it. You may fail, but still don't quit. Implement the plan that was on paper onto your life.
Improve:
This is one important I. This decides if we are truly implementing our plans or doing it for the sake of others. If the implementation is Genuine and no improvement, it is time to go back to the drawing board and check the action plans. In either way keeping a check on this I pays.
Influence:
This is the final I and most important. As i said how do you validate things. If you have improved, how do you validate that. you can validate that by influencing other people. Influencers very rarely influence through words, they mostly do it by action. This will make you work on your continuously and the better version of you can be even better.
