भारत के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की ‘रीढ़’ कही जाने वाली आशा वर्कर्स के काम को दुनिया भर में पहचान मिली है।
विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) ने भारत की 10 लाख महिला आशा स्वयंसेवकों को सम्मानित किया है। आशा स्वयंसेवकों को यह सम्मान, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं पहुंचाने और देश में कोरोना वायरस महामारी के खिलाफ अभियान में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने के लिए दिया गया है। भारत में कोरोना वायरस महामारी के चरम पर रहने के दौरान, रोगियों का पता लगाने के लिए घर-घर जाकर जांच करने को लेकर आशा कार्यकर्ता विशेषतौर पर चर्चा में आईं थीं।

जिससे वहाँ रह रहे सैकड़ों आदिवासी बेघर होंगे ,जो जीवंत आदिवासी समाज की सरकार द्वारा उपेक्षा को दर्शाता है साथ ही उसके कारण लाखों पेड़ कटेंगे जो पर्यावरण के लिए बहुत बड़ा खतरा है।

In the last few months, Saatvik Subramaniam (a high school studentt in Bengaluru) has been able to deliver 10 such laptops to children in need of gadgets to access education, just by recycling the e-waste collected from families living in societies.
He did this by working closely with NGO Saahas to organise e-waste collection drives and then working with the social enterprise 'Dad and Dude' to refurbish the old laptops with complete data security.
In short, he tackled the problem of e-waste while filling a crucial gap in the education of underprivilged kids. Kudos to him!
