Auspicious Colors for the 4 Sawan Mondays
1. First Monday: Green (Hara)
Significance: Green symbolizes nature, fertility, growth, and fresh beginnings. The month of Sawan brings rain and greenery, making green the ultimate favorite color of both Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Best Choice: Emerald green, leafy green, or olive green.
2. Second Monday: White (Safed) or Silver/Light Blue
Significance: White represents peace, purity, and truth. Lord Shiva is adornment-free (Karpuragauram – white as camphor) and wears the moon on his head. Light blue reflects the Neelkanth form of Lord Shiva.

3. Third Monday: Yellow (Peela) or Saffron (Kesariya)
Significance: Yellow represents knowledge, positivity, and spiritual growth. Saffron/Orange signifies renunciation, divine wisdom, and strong devotion.

4. Fourth Monday: Red (Lal) or Pink (Gulabi)
Significance: Red and pink symbolize energy, passion, and Saubhagya (marital harmony and prosperity). It marks the auspicious completion of the Sawan Somwar fasts and honors Goddess Gauri (Parvati) alongside Lord Shiva.

Colors to Avoid During Sawan Worship
Tip: Always choose clean, fresh, and unstitched/comfortable traditional clothes (like cotton or silk) when performing Abhishekam or visiting the temple.
Black: Avoid completely during puja and fasting, as black is associated with absorbing negativity and obstruction in sacred rituals.
Dark Brown / Charcoal Grey: Generally avoided for auspicious offerings and prayers as they denote dullness.
