If your plant is producing less biodiesel than expected, the loss may not be coming from the reaction alone.
Yield can be lost through:

🔹 Biodiesel losses with the glycerol phase
🔹 Losses during washing and separation
🔹 Excessive methanol or chemical consumption

In biodiesel production, a high recovery number alone does not mean the process is optimized.

True process performance comes from balancing:

🔹 Maximum recoverable yield
🔹 Consistent FAME quality
🔹 Low residual glycerides, methanol, soap and catalyst
🔹 Efficient separation and purification
🔹 Stable and repeatable plant operation

A process that gives high yield but requires excessive reprocessing or produces inconsistent quality is not truly optimized.

The objective is maximum usable yield at consistent quality.
