Ambedkar Jayanti is a festival observed on April 14 every year to commemorate the memory of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This day is celebrated as birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar who born on this day in the year 1891.
Baba Saheb greatly contributed to the nation as a jurist, philosopher, politician, anthropologist, economist and historian.

He was appointed as the first law minister of the independent India. He also contributed to drafting the Constitution of India, serving as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee from 29 August 1947 to 24 January 1950.

Baba Saheb held a strong notion against the social divisions prevailing in the country at that time. He organised campaigns to spread words of equality and annihilate the Indian caste system.
