For months, the CFO didn’t trust his own dashboard.
Numbers looked right — but the story didn’t.
Every Monday, he’d open the Power BI report, stare at 12 tabs, and still ask:
“So… are we profitable this quarter or not?”
The data team had built a perfectly accurate dashboard — but it wasn’t decision-first.
It answered, “what happened,” not “what to do next.”
When we rebuilt it, we followed our Decision-First Dashboard Framework:
• 🧭 Start with the decisions the CFO makes each week.
• 🎯 Group metrics by decision area (Cashflow | Profitability | Risk).
• 📊 Add visual cues → red = action needed, green = stable.
• 💬 Layer narrative summaries using Power BI Smart Narratives.
• ⚙️ Automate refreshes + alerts, so insights find him — not the other way around.
Now he spends 10 mins, not 60.
And for the first time, he said — “I finally trust what I see.”
💬 Comment INSIGHT and I’ll DM you our 1-page Decision-First Dashboard Framework (PDF) — the same structure we use to turn data chaos into clarity.
