Once we have defined our relationship values, we can decide what we can do to be this person. What actions can we take to be respectful, kind, or loving, if that's what we value?
Listing different behaviors that we could do to align with our values is a step that can take some time, but research clearly shows the value of connecting the dots here. It could be calling someone who's important to you once a day, thanking a friend for something, or expressing love to a partner.
Some behaviors that people in satisfying long-term relationships do more often than others:
*Share positive news
*Respond to positive news with curiosity, engagement and enthusiasm
*Express gratitude and appreciation
*Act generously
*Make plans together
*Celebrate achievements or successes
*When facing challenges: validate feelings, show care and that they will stay through the ups and downs
