With only about 424 out of 10,000 astronomers present for the final vote, and a controversial new rule about “clearing the neighborhood,” the debate is still burning strong today.
The controversy only grew in 2015 when NASA’s New Horizons probe flew by and revealed a stunning, geologically active world covered in water-ice mountains and nitrogen glaciers. 🏔️❄️
